Exclamations
Exclamatory SentencesAn interjection is a word that expresses feeling or emotion. It is usually followed by an exclamation mark. The two quotations below express strong feelings. The first quotation contains an interjection. “Wow!” screamed Drishti as she looked at Demetri's pet iguana. “That’s great!” cried Nina as she threw her glue sheet in the recycle box. Don’t use the word “said.” Use a variety of verbs or synonyms instead of “said.” You might try replied, snickered, wailed, begged, or added. |
